Richie Sambora, 51, has checked out of rehab and will be rejoining the Bon Jovi tour in Europe.
Sambora was in high spirits at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport Sunday, telling TMZ.com he’s “doing excellent,” before saying he had no plans to stay in the city because he was “going out to Europe right now.” The rocker entered rehab for exhaustion and alcohol use in late April after spending most of last year out on tour.
“Richie recently has been drinking too much, and wants to get his life together,” a source told RadarOnline.com at the time.
“Richie has had a busy year,” another friend told the site. “I think this was a culmination of the things that overloaded his life and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself.”
In 2007 , Sambora checked into rehab under similar conditions following his divorce from Heather Locklear, his wife of 16 years, and the death of his father shortly after. source
