Reformed bad girl and mom-to-be Pink is happy to pass the wild-girl label to “Lady Marmalade” collaborator Christina Aguilera. The rocker, 31, took to Twitter on Tuesday to joke about past predictions that she was the rising female singer to worry about. ”Out of Myself, Britney, and Christina – didn’t everyone think I was gonna be the troublemaker?” the “Raise Your Glass” songstress tweeted. “LOOK MA!!! No CUFFS!!!”
Aguilera, 30, was arrested for public intoxication on Tuesday after cops pulled over the star and her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler, 25, in West Hollywood.
Because the pop star wasn’t driving the vehicle, the Sheriff’s Department has no plans to prosecute, but TMZ reported that those close to the situation say something has to be done about Aguilera’s drinking habit.
Friends and business associates have spent the last several months urging the star to seek treatment, but Aguilera has heard none of it, turning down all suggestions she enter rehab, the site claimed.
“Maybe when she was married she was able to keep it under wraps, but it’s out in the open now,” an insider told TMZ.
According to the site, the singer’s boozing came up in her divorce proceedings with music executive Jordan Bratman, with whom she has a 3-year-old son, Max. The former couple settled on a joint custody agreement last year, but Aguilera’s alcohol abuse was reportedly a major issue in the negotiations.
“Her drinking is out of control,” a source also alleged to UsMagazine.com. “She’s a total mess.”
