The first step is admitting right?
Lindsay Lohan’s mom finally said goodbye to denial Monday and admitted her daughter is a drug addict.
“Yes,” Dina Lohan said when asked on the “Today” show whether she could acknowledge what’s been apparent to anybody else watching the public disintegration of the “Mean Girls” actress.
“I think it was up to her to come to her own evolution,” Lohan’s mom told Matt Lauer. “Now I’m happy and relieved myself.”
Lohan has eight more weeks to go in court-ordered rehab at the Betty Ford center, an experience her mom called “life-changing.”
“Happy and relaxed,” Dina Lohan said, when asked to describe her daughter’s state of mind. “She’s just a different person.”
Lohan’s mom said she “absolutely” supports her 24-year-old daughter’s attempts to rebuild her relationship with her estranged dad, Michael.
The two were reportedly reunited at the clinic over the weekend and then went on an approved shopping jaunt to a mall in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Asked if the party-hearty actress has finally conquered her demons, Dina Lohan said “we take it one day at a time.”
“I don’t have a crystal ball,” she said.
