Now all he needs is a slogan. Months after announcing he was running for mayor of Wasilla, Levi Johnston’s rep said the 20-year-old has a campaign platform. Johnston’s rep told TMZ.com Johnston would focus on bringing “better schools, less crime and more jobs for citizens of Wasilla and neighboring Palmer” if he becomes mayor.
Johnston drew fire from hosts of “The View” on an Oct. 19 appearance after he was unable to articulate any concrete plans he had for Wasilla.
“I said I was running for mayor, what, a month ago?” he told “The View’ hosts as they peppered him with questions. “Wasilla’s a great place. I just want to keep it that way for my son.”
The former high school hockey star is also working on getting his high school diploma, his rep said.
Johnston also spoke out on Sarah Palin’s statement on “Entertainment Tonight” that she would run for President if no one else would.
“[Palin] wouldn’t even go through a campaign if she was nominated,” he told the website.
While his platform may be slightly less murky, Johnston hasn’t announced which party he plans on being affiliated with. Since announcing his campaign in August, Johnston has wavered about whether he will run as a Democrat or Republican. On Tuesday, he said he was leaning towards voting for Scott McAdams, the Democratic candidate in the hotly contested Alaskan Senate race, but didn’t reveal his final choice.
Johnston has posed for Playgirl magazine and has become a B-list celebrity favorite since breaking up with Palin’s daughter, Bristol, with whom he has a child.
He is currently making a reality show, “Loving Levi, The Road to the Mayor’s Office.” source
